A series of school bus and city bus accidents have been occurring across the country. Unfortunately, what many would consider to be a safe ride has become a danger far too often. It's the duty for school bus drivers to exercise caution when driving, especially during certain weather conditions. A Missouri school bus crash took place recently, causing personal injury to several people.
Authorities responded to the scene of an accident that occurred on a recent Friday afternoon. Upon a preliminary investigation, authorities believe that the collision occurred when the driver of the bus, which was carrying students at the time, skidded off the road at an intersection. Reportedly, students who were on board the bus suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital. The exact nature of their injuries have not been reported and it wasn't clear if any individual was still being hospitalized.
It is not known if the driver of the bus suffered injuries in the collision. Authorities assert that weather may have been a contributing factor in the crash. No citations related to this incident have been reported; however, both the driver and the company employing that person could face potential liability in the future.
Weather conditions may have played a role in this school bus accident. Even so, the driver still has a duty to operate in a safe manner, especially with other passengers on board. Depending on the extent of their injuries, it is possible that the students experienced a considerable amount of pain and suffering. Moreover, an accident such as this one can affect a person's mental well-being. The victims or their parents may elect to file personal injury claims against the Missouri bus driver and/or the company employing the driver in order to recoup monetary damages.
