Drivers on Missouri roads who are distracted or otherwise fail to take due care can cause serious accidents. Many such car accidents occur when drivers fail to notice that traffic ahead has come to a stop or are moving slowly. Sometimes, rear-end crashes occur that result in chain accidents causing long-term injuries or worse.

On a recent Sunday afternoon, an accident took place on Highway A in which several people were injured. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash followed one driver’s failure to stop in time to avoid crashing into others. This driver was a 22-year-old Arnold woman who came upon two stationary vehicles. After rear-ending a car driven by a 39-year-old Dittmer driver, she smashed into the rear of a pickup truck of another 39-year-old driver from Arnold.

A total of five occupants of the cars were transported to a medical facility in Fenton. They suffered injuries of varying severity, although none were reported to be life-threatening. No updates about their conditions were reported.

Any injured victims of car accidents in Missouri may pursue financial relief for medical expenses and other damages. Rear-end accidents often leave victims with neck or back problems caused by whiplash that may only become evident later. Once a clear indication of long-term effects are confirmed by a doctor, a victim may file a personal injury claim in a civil court. If negligence can be proved, financial liability can be established. All documented claims will then be adjudicated by the court before a monetary judgment is entered.
