Whatever the cause of the crash, motorcyclists are often the ones badly injured in instances where motorcycles and larger vehicles collide. Unfortunately, motorcycle accidents have become a common occurrence in Missouri, leading to a significant number of injuries and even fatalities. One man was recently killed in one such crash with a car.

The cyclist was traveling north on a local highway on the evening of April 24. The driver of a car pulled into the biker’s path, causing the motorcycle to strike the car. The force of the impact threw the victim from his bike, and the bike continued on for a short distance. It then hit another car that was stopped in the intersection.

Sadly, the victim was not wearing any type of safety device at the time of the collision. He was rushed to a local hospital following the crash and was pronounced dead shortly after. Reports indicate that the other two drivers were not seriously injured.

Though the emotional burden of losing a family member will likely be difficult to overcome, the victim’s family may be able to find financial relief through filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver believed to be responsible. If they can successfully prove that driver negligent, they could then be awarded monetary damages that could help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and other monetary damages related to the crash. Any Missouri residents who have lost loved ones to motorcycle accidents could consult experienced personal injury attorneys to learn more about wrongful death claims.
